Laika Press, Reno’s community printmaking studio, has relaunched its programs and workshops after a long hiatus due to major repairs and construction projects. Upcoming workshops include Printshop 101 on March 24, Screenprinting 101 on April 27, and Relief Printing 101 on May 26. UNR hiring book arts + design professor

UNR is seeking a full-time Associate Professor of Book Arts & Graphic Design. The job description reads, in part, “This position will lead the department’s Book and Publication Arts curriculum and manage the Black Rock Press. … This is also a teaching position in the Graphic Design program, offering students experience and insight into type design, typesetting, printing, and book publication. This position will maintain an active research or creative activity agenda and have up to a 2/3 teaching load.” Info and application here.



Rita Deanin Abbey inducted into UNLV Fine Arts Hall of Fame

Rita Deanin Abbey—the late, beloved multidisciplinary artist and one of UNLV’s first art professors—will be inducted into the UNLV College of Fine Arts Hall of Fame on April 2 at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
